The 5-pin DSBGA package measures 1.4 mm x 0.9 mm. Surface-mount assembly uses a stencil for the bump pattern.
Because the output is open drain, the SN74LVC1G07YZPR cannot drive a high level by itself. When the input is low, the output is high-impedance (Hi-Z); when the input is high, the output pulls low to ground. This allows the buffer to translate between different voltage domains — for example, a 1.8V microcontroller output can drive a 5V input on a legacy peripheral by pulling up to 5V. The sink current capability of 32 mA means the pull-up resistor value must be chosen so the current through the output when low stays within that limit.
