Single open-drain buffer for mixed-voltage and high-sink applications
The SN74LVC1G07DSF2: The open-drain output can sink up to 32mA, which lets it drive LEDs, relays, or pull a bus line low in wired-OR configurations.
The open-drain output sinks 32mA. The pull-up resistor is external, so the pull-up voltage is independent of VCC.
Package and footprint — 6-SON 1x1mm
The SN74LVC1G07DSF2 comes in a 6-XFDFN package that TI also calls 6-SON with a 1x1mm body. That is a tiny, leadless package with a 0.5mm pitch. It saves board area in dense designs — think handheld instruments, sensor modules, or multi-layer PCBs where every square millimetre counts. The trade-off is that rework is trickier than a larger SOIC or SOT-23: you need a hot-air station with a fine nozzle, and the solder-paste stencil aperture should be sized to avoid bridging under the exposed pad.
