Quad buffer with 3-state outputs for mixed-voltage buses
The SN74LVC125ARGYR: Four elements, each handling one bit, with 3-state outputs for bus isolation.
Supply range 1.65V to 3.6V covers 1.8V and 3.3V rails.
24 mA output drive — sizing the load budget
The symmetric 24 mA high and low drive means the rise and fall times stay balanced, which matters for clock distribution or address-line buffering where skew budgets are tight.
Package and footprint — 14-VFQFN with exposed pad
The 14-VFQFN package measures 3.5x3.5 mm with an exposed thermal pad underneath. That pad should be soldered to a ground-plane via array on the PCB — it pulls heat out of the die and improves electrical ground reference. The small footprint saves board area compared to a 14-pin SOIC or TSSOP, but the fine pitch means the stencil aperture needs careful sizing to avoid solder bridging between the edge pads.
