Output options that simplify the board
The SN74LV8153PWR offers both open-collector and push-pull outputs. Open-collector outputs let you wire-OR multiple shift-register outputs onto a single pull-up line, useful for driving a shared interrupt bus or a relay coil without extra buffer stages. Push-pull mode gives faster edge rates for clocking data into a downstream latch or a microcontroller input.
Temperature grade and package — fits the panel, not just the lab
A PLC I/O module or a motor-drive control board sitting in an unventilated enclosure sees this range; the part does not require derating or forced airflow at the upper end. Housed in a 20-TSSOP package with a 4.40 mm body width, it shares the same footprint as other 74LV-series 20-pin TSSOP devices. If your existing BOM already uses a 74LV164 or 74LV595 in this package, the SN74LV8153PWR drops onto the same land pattern without a PCB revision.
