Buffer for 2V-5.5V buses — 16 mA drive, 3-state, dual 4-bit
The SN74LV244ADW is a dual 4-bit non-inverting buffer with 3-state outputs, part of TI's 74LV low-voltage logic family. Each of the eight outputs sources or sinks 16 mA — enough to drive a standard CMOS input or a low-current LED indicator without an external buffer. The 3-state outputs let multiple devices share a data bus; the output enable pins (active-low per element) float the outputs when deasserted.
Board integration — 20-SOIC wide, tube delivery
Tube packaging means the parts ship in anti-static tubes, not tape-and-reel — plan for manual or tube-fed pick-and-place; no reel changeover needed for low-volume assembly. Supply decoupling: place a 0.1 µF ceramic capacitor close to each VCC pin (pins 20 and 10) to ground. The 2V minimum supply lets this buffer interface with 1.8V-logic devices when the VCCIO rail is set to 2V, though input thresholds scale with VCC.
