Six open-drain inverters in a compact TVSOP package
The Texas Instruments SN74LV06ADGVR is a hex inverter from the 74LV series, with each of its six channels featuring an open-drain output. This means the output can only sink current — it pulls low to ground — and relies on an external pull-up resistor to establish the high-level voltage. That architecture makes the part a natural fit for level translation between logic families running at different supply voltages, or for wired-OR bus structures where multiple outputs share a common pull-up. The open-drain output also allows the device to drive loads beyond its own supply rail, up to the breakdown limit of the external transistor (typically 5.5V for the 74LV process). Typical applications include mixed-voltage systems in industrial control, telecom line cards, and general-purpose logic where signal inversion and bus sharing are needed.
Lifecycle and sourcing posture
The SN74LV06ADGVR is listed as Active with ROHS3 compliance. No end-of-life notice or last-time-buy schedule is in effect. For BOM planning, there is no imminent obsolescence risk.
