Quad D-type latch with differential outputs
The SN74LS375N packs four independent D-type transparent latches into a single 16-pin DIP, each with differential outputs (Q and Q-bar). When the latch-enable input is high, the Q output follows the D input; when enable goes low, the last state is held. This is the classic 74LS375 function — a workhorse for temporary data storage, address latching, or bus-hold applications where a clocked flip-flop is unnecessary. Propagation delay is 12 ns typical from enable to output, and the outputs source 400 µA or sink 8 mA — enough to drive a second LS load or a low-power LED indicator without a buffer. The 16-DIP (0.300" row spacing) through-hole package suits breadboard prototyping, legacy PCB rework, or designs where vibration resistance or manual soldering is preferred over SMT. Operating temperature is commercial grade (0°C to 70°C), so it lives comfortably in bench equipment, industrial control panels, and office-environment hardware.
Active production, ROHS3 compliant
It is ROHS3 compliant (lead-free per EU 2015/863), so it passes into EU and UK markets without an exemption claim. For a BOM line that still calls out a 16-DIP latch, this part is a clean, in-production drop-in. No need to respin a board for an SMT alternate unless the assembly house has already dropped through-hole support.
