The Texas Instruments SN74LS368AN is a 74LS-series inverting buffer with 3-state outputs, packaged in a 16-pin DIP (0.300" body) for through-hole mounting. Internally it contains two elements: one 2-bit and one 4-bit, giving a total of six inverting channels. The 3-state output lets you connect multiple buffers to a common bus — when the output enable is inactive, the pin goes high-impedance and doesn't load the line.
Output drive — 2.6 mA high, 24 mA low
The rated output drive is 2.6 mA sourcing (logic high) and 24 mA sinking (logic low). That asymmetric ratio is typical for LS TTL: the low-level sink is the stronger leg, so the part is best at pulling a bus line low through a pull-up resistor. Fan-out to standard LS loads is fine, but don't expect to drive a 50 Ω backplane directly on the high side.
Package and rework — 16-DIP, through-hole
The 16-pin DIP (0.300" row spacing) is a through-hole part — easy to hand-solder, easy to pull with a desoldering station or even a solder sucker. No thermal pad, no hidden leads; it's about as rework-friendly as a logic IC gets. The supplier device package is 16-PDIP.
It's a mature 74LS part that has been in production for decades, and Texas Instruments continues to manufacture it.
