Hex inverter for mixed-voltage logic rails
The SN74HCU04D is a Texas Instruments hex inverter from the 74HCU series, packing six independent inverter gates in a single 14-SOIC package. Each gate accepts one input and drives a standard CMOS load with 5.2mA source and sink capability at the output. Supply voltage spans 2V to 6V, so the same part can buffer or invert signals on a 3.3V microcontroller rail or a 5V industrial logic bus without a level translator.
Quiescent current and propagation delay
Max quiescent current is 2 µA, which keeps the standby power negligible on battery-backed or always-on logic sections. Propagation delay is 14 ns max at 6V supply with a 50 pF load — fast enough for most control and data-path inversion below 10 MHz clock rates.
Active production and compliance
No successor or cross-reference is listed. ROHS3 compliant per Texas Instruments documentation, which covers the EU RoHS exemption list through the latest update.
