Quad 2:1 multiplexer in a 16-pin DIP
The Texas Instruments SN74HCT157N is a 4 x 2:1 multiplexer from the 74HCT logic family, packaged in a 16-DIP (0.300", 7.62mm) through-hole package. It selects one of two 4-bit data sources under control of a common select input, with a single supply range of 4.5V to 5.5V.
Supply rail and output drive
The 4.5V to 5.5V single-supply range is a direct match for 5V TTL and HCMOS systems. The 6mA output high and low current is typical for the 74HCT family and drives standard CMOS or TTL loads without an external buffer. If your load requires more than 6 mA per channel, plan for a line driver or a higher-drive logic family.
