The SN74HCS86QPWRQ1 is an active-production Texas Instruments quad 2-input XOR gate from the Automotive, AEC-Q100, 74HCS series. The 14-TSSOP package (0.173", 4.40mm width) is a surface-mount footprint common in automotive and industrial control modules.
Supply voltage and noise immunity
The 2V to 6V supply covers both 3.3V and 5V rails without a level translator. Schmitt-trigger inputs clean up slow edges or noisy signals, with a low-level threshold of 1V to 3V and a high-level threshold of 1.5V to 4.2V. This matters when the gate sits on a long harness or shares a ground with a motor drive. Quiescent current is 2 µA max, and output drive is 7.8 mA per channel at both high and low states. Propagation delay is 12 ns at 6V, 50pF — fast enough for most sensor-to-controller handshakes but not for high-speed serial buses.
