8-bit transparent latch in a compact 20-VFQFN
The Texas Instruments SN74HCS373RKSR is an 8-bit D-type transparent latch with tri-state outputs, organized as a single 8:8 circuit. It holds data on the Q outputs while the latch-enable (LE) input is high; when LE goes low, the last data is latched. The tri-state outputs let multiple devices share a common bus — the output-enable (OE) pin puts all outputs into high-impedance state, which is the standard way to disconnect the latch from a data bus without contention. The package (2.5x4.5mm body) with exposed pad saves board area and helps conduct heat to the ground plane. Operating temperature from -40°C to 125°C suits industrial environments.
Package and storage note
The SN74HCS373RKSR ships in Tape & Reel (TR) or Cut Tape (CT). The package is moisture-sensitive; store the reels in a dry cabinet or use a moisture-barrier bag with desiccant.
Lifecycle and sourcing
No last-time-buy or obsolescence notice is in effect, so it remains a safe choice for new designs and production BOMs.
