Six inverters in a 3x2.5 mm footprint
The SN74HCS14BQAR packs six independent inverter gates with Schmitt-trigger inputs into a 14-WQFN package measuring 3x2.5 mm. Each gate accepts a single input and inverts the logic state, with the Schmitt trigger providing hysteresis that cleans up noisy or slow-rising signals.
Temperature range and timing
The quiescent current maxes out at 2 µA, so battery-powered remote sensors and always-on monitoring circuits don't drain the cell during idle periods. Propagation delay is 16 ns maximum at 6 V with a 50 pF load. That gives a clean switching window for clock conditioning, debouncing switch inputs, or squaring up sensor edges before feeding them into a microcontroller GPIO.
Package and board integration
The 0.5 mm pitch pads need a controlled impedance trace width for signal integrity at the gate's switching speed, though the 16 ns delay means edge rates are moderate. Available in Tape & Reel (TR) or Cut Tape (CT) — the reel format suits automated pick-and-place for volume production, while cut tape works for prototype runs and small-batch builds.
The part is ROHS3 compliant, meeting the current EU restriction directive for lead-free soldering processes.
