Automotive-grade AND gate with Schmitt-trigger noise immunity
The SN74HCS08QBQARQ1 is a Texas Instruments quad 2-input AND gate from the 74HCS series, qualified to AEC-Q100 Grade 1 for automotive applications. The Schmitt-trigger inputs provide hysteresis that rejects noise on slow or noisy signal edges, making the gate suitable for sensor interfaces and control logic in engine-bay or chassis-domain ECUs. Operating from 2V to 6V supply, the device delivers 7.8 mA output drive at both high and low states, with a maximum propagation delay of 12 ns at 6V into a 50 pF load. The wide supply range allows direct interfacing with 3.3V and 5V logic families without a level translator.
Package and temperature range for harsh environments
Housed in a 14-WFQFN exposed-pad package (3x2.5 mm body), the SN74HCS08QBQARQ1 is a surface-mount device with a small footprint suited for space-constrained automotive PCBs. The exposed thermal pad must be soldered to a copper plane for adequate heat dissipation, as the junction-to-ambient thermal resistance depends on board layout. Rated for -40°C to +125°C ambient, the device covers the full automotive temperature envelope. The AEC-Q100 qualification includes reliability stress tests (temperature cycling, ESD, latch-up) that are mandatory for Tier-1 automotive supply chains.
Active production and sourcing posture
Sourced through authorized and independent distribution channels. Pricing and lead time are confirmed at RFQ against the BOM quantity. The part is available in Tape & Reel or Cut Tape packaging for pick-and-place assembly.
