Quad NAND with Schmitt-trigger inputs for noisy environments
The SN74HCS00DYYR: The Schmitt-trigger hysteresis cleans up slow or noisy input edges, preventing spurious output transitions that a standard CMOS gate would pass through — critical when the input signal comes from a long PCB trace, a switch contact, or a sensor with marginal rise time.
Quiescent current maxes at 2 µA, so the gate's own draw is negligible in power-sensitive designs. Output drive is 7.8 mA high and low, enough to light an LED or drive a single CMOS load without a buffer. Propagation delay is 12 ns max at 6 V with a 50 pF load — fast enough for general-purpose logic gluing, bus arbitration, and debounce circuits running below 50 MHz.
Package and board integration
Housed in the SOT-23-14 Thin package (supplier device package 14-SOT-23-THIN), this surface-mount device saves board area compared to traditional SOIC-14. The thin profile suits compact, multi-layer boards where component height is constrained, such as handheld instruments or sensor modules.
