Quad 2-input OR gate in the 74HC family
The Texas Instruments SN74HC32DT is a quad 2-input OR gate from the 74HC logic family, packaged in a 14-SOIC (0.154", 3.90mm width) surface-mount package. It operates from a 2 V to 6 V supply, making it compatible with both 3.3 V and 5 V logic rails, and is specified over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. Each of the four independent OR gates can sink or source 5.2 mA, and the propagation delay is 17 ns at 6 V with a 50 pF load — fast enough for general-purpose glue logic, bus gating, and signal conditioning in industrial control, motor drives, and outdoor telecom equipment.
Supply voltage range and logic-level compatibility
The 2 V to 6 V supply range covers the two most common digital rails — 3.3 V and 5 V — without needing a separate level translator. The input logic-low threshold spans 0.5 V to 1.8 V, and the input logic-high threshold spans 1.5 V to 4.2 V, so at 5 V supply a 3.3 V CMOS output will still be read as a valid high. At 3.3 V supply, the low threshold stays below 0.8 V, which is comfortable for most 3.3 V logic families.
