Triple 3-input NOR gate in 14-SOIC — 74HC logic family
The SN74HC27DT from Texas Instruments is a triple 3-input NOR gate in the 74HC CMOS logic family. It integrates three independent NOR gates, each with three inputs, in a compact 14-SOIC surface-mount package. The 2 V to 6 V supply range makes it compatible with 3.3 V and 5 V logic rails, and the -40°C to 85°C operating temperature covers industrial environments. Quiescent current maxes at 2 µA, suiting battery-powered or always-on glue logic.
15 ns propagation delay — timing margin for the logic path
At 6 V supply and 50 pF load, the maximum propagation delay is 15 ns. For a 5 V rail, the delay will be slightly higher — budget around 20 ns typical. This is fast enough for most board-level decode, enable, and gating functions running below 20 MHz. If your clock or data path needs tighter than 10 ns, step to the 74LVC or 74AUC families. The 5.2 mA output drive (both high and low) is adequate for driving a few CMOS inputs or a single LED; it won't drive a relay coil or a long backplane trace.
Active and ROHS3 compliant — no LTB risk
There is no last-time-buy notice or obsolescence risk on this line. For procurement, this means the part can be specified into new designs with confidence that the factory will support it for the foreseeable future. The 14-SOIC package is a standard footprint shared by many 74HC and 74HCT devices, so alternate sourcing from other manufacturers (NXP, ON Semiconductor) is straightforward if a second source is needed.
