Each of the two independent circuits provides a 1:1 signal path that, when enabled, connects its A port to its B port with low on-state resistance. The part is housed in an 8-TSSOP package and operates from a single 4.5 V to 5.5 V supply over the -40°C to 85°C industrial temperature range. Typical applications include hot-swap isolation, signal gating, and bus isolation in 5 V digital systems — think telecom line cards, industrial I/O modules, and mixed-voltage backplanes where a clean digital switch is needed without the propagation delay of a logic gate.
Supply voltage and temperature grade — the BOM-fit check
The 4.5 V to 5.5 V single-supply range means this switch runs directly off a 5 V rail with margin for regulation tolerance. If your board lives in a 3.3 V system or needs the -55°C to 125°C military range, this part won't fit; look at the 74CBTLV or 74CBT family variants for lower-voltage or wider-temperature options.
