Bus switch for 5V signal paths

The 4V to 5.5V supply window means this switch is designed for 5V nominal rails, not 3.3V or lower. If the design runs a 3.3V bus, the switch's on-state resistance and signal swing will not match the datasheet's characterized performance — a 5V-tolerant bus switch from the 74CBTLV or 74LVC family would be the correct tier. The single-supply sourcing also simplifies the power tree: no separate VCC and VDD rails to route.

The active status removes any urgency to qualify a drop-in alternate today, but maintaining a second-source qualification on a functionally equivalent 8-bit bus switch in the same package is standard supply-chain hygiene for production builds.
