Bus switch for hot-swap and signal isolation
The SN74CBT16245CDL is a 16-bit bus switch from TI's 74CBT series, arranged as two independent 8-bit banks (8 x 1:1 circuit per bank). Each switch presents a low on-resistance path between the A and B ports when the output-enable pin is low, effectively connecting or isolating bus segments with minimal propagation delay — typically under 250 ps. This makes it a fit for hot-swap backplanes, memory-bank switching, or isolating a shared data bus during power sequencing.
48-SSOP footprint and board integration
The supplier device package is 48-SSOP; the 0.635 mm pitch is manageable on a two-layer board with proper trace routing for the 16 channels.
