The SN74CBT16244CDL is a 4-bit bus switch from TI's 74CBT family, configured as four independent 1:1 switches. It connects or isolates digital signal paths on a PCB — think multiplexing memory banks, swapping peripheral buses, or gating a debug header without adding propagation delay. That covers most control-panel, telecom, and test-equipment environments without needing a commercial-grade part swap.
Housed in a 48-lead SSOP (BSSOP body, 7.50 mm wide, 0.295" pitch), it is a surface-mount part that reflows on a standard solder profile. The 0.025" lead pitch is fine enough that a visual inspection under magnification is a good idea after reflow — no lab bench needed, just a loupe.
