Bus switch for signal isolation and hot-swap
The Texas Instruments SN74CB3Q3244PW is a 4-bit 1:1 bus switch in the 74CB series, providing a low-impedance path for digital or analog signals with near-zero propagation delay. It contains two independent circuits of 4 channels each, allowing separate bus isolation or multiplexing in a single 20-TSSOP package.
The 4 x 1:1 configuration with two independent circuits means the device can switch two separate 4-bit buses without cross-talk, or be used as a single 8-bit bus by tying the enable pins together. Each circuit has its own output-enable pin, giving the designer per-bank control for power sequencing or hot-swap isolation.
For dual-sourcing or alternate footprint considerations, note that the 20-TSSOP package is a common industry standard, so cross-shopping with other 74CB-series bus switches from TI or second-source vendors is straightforward if supply flexibility is needed.
