Logic-level translation in a dual-supply bus
The SN74AVC4T245PW is a 4-bit translation transceiver from Texas Instruments' 74AVC series, designed to bridge voltage domains between 1.2 V and 3.6 V on either side of the bus. With two elements each handling two bits per element, the part manages four independent signal paths in a single 16-TSSOP package — a common footprint for mixed-voltage interface designs.
Output drive and bus control
Each channel sources and sinks 12 mA, sufficient for driving CMOS logic inputs or short PCB traces without external buffers. The 3-State output allows the transceiver to isolate its bus segment when the output enable is deasserted — useful for shared data lines where multiple drivers contend for the same net.
