Dual flip-flop for ultra-low-power edge processing
The SN74AUP2G79DCUR packs two independent D-type flip-flops with positive-edge triggering and non-inverted outputs in an 8-VSSOP package — a space-saving choice for buffering sensor interrupts or latching bus data in battery-operated gear. Clock frequency reaches 266 MHz, so it handles high-speed serial-to-parallel conversion without missing edges. The 1.5 pF input capacitance keeps the upstream driver's dynamic load light. Supply voltage spans 0.8V to 3.6V, making it compatible with single-cell Li-ion and 1.8V/2.5V logic families without a level shifter.
Propagation delay and drive strength
Maximum propagation delay is 6.3 ns at 3.3V with a 30 pF load — fast enough for 150 Mbps data paths. Output drive is 4 mA source and sink, adequate for driving a single downstream gate or a short PCB trace. Compared to the through-hole SN74LS378N (27 ns at 5V, 15 pF) and the 74F374SCX-NS (8.5 ns at 5V, 50 pF), this part's 6.3 ns at a lower 3.3V supply shows the speed advantage of the 74AUP process.
