Single-gate buffer for ultra-low-voltage buses
The Texas Instruments SN74AUC1G07DCKT is a single-gate non-inverting buffer with an open-drain output, part of the 74AUC family designed for sub-2.7V operation. The open-drain output sinks up to 9 mA, which lets you wire-OR multiple outputs on a shared line or level-shift a signal to a higher voltage domain through an external pull-up resistor.
Open-drain output and level translation
The open-drain output is the defining feature: the low-side N-channel FET pulls the output low when the input is high, and the output floats (high-impedance) when the input is low. This lets you connect the output to a pull-up resistor tied to a different supply — say 1.8V on the input side and 3.3V on the output pull-up — for simple unidirectional level translation. Because it is a single-gate device in a 5-pin SC-70-5 package, it is sized for board-level glue logic where you need one extra buffer or level shifter without routing signals to a larger multi-gate package.
The 74AUC series is a mature logic family, but TI continues to support it for designs that require the ultra-low-voltage operating range.
The SC-70-5 package is widely stocked in both tape-and-reel and cut-tape formats, so lead times are typically short for standard volumes.
