Mixed-voltage backplane transceiver
It is built for bidirectional data flow between two independent supply-voltage domains: one side at 2.3V to 2.7V, the other at 3V to 3.6V. Each of the two elements handles 8 bits, and the output drive is rated 12 mA source and 12 mA sink per channel.
Supply-voltage flexibility — why it matters
The dual supply range (2.3V–2.7V and 3V–3.6V) is the headline feature. The 12 mA output drive at both voltage extremes is enough for short backplane traces and point-to-point links; for longer buses or higher fan-out, budget an additional buffer. The 3-state outputs allow multiple transceivers to share the same data lines in a multiplexed backplane architecture.
Housed in a 48-lead SSOP (0.295-inch body width, 7.50 mm), the part is a surface-mount device that fits a standard 0.635 mm pitch footprint. The supplier device package is 48-SSOP, identical to the JEDEC MO-118 variation. The tube shipping medium is fine for prototype and low-volume builds; for production reels, check the alternate tape-and-reel order code if the BOM calls for automated placement.
