Output drive and bus loading
The output drive is rated at 12 mA source and sink for one supply condition and 32 mA source and sink for the other. The 32 mA figure is the one that matters when the line drives a heavily loaded bus with multiple receivers or long PCB traces — it gives enough margin to maintain signal integrity without external buffers. The lower 12 mA setting is adequate for point-to-point links or lightly loaded segments.
Temperature grade and environment
Rated for -40°C to 85°C ambient, which covers industrial control cabinets, outdoor telecom shelters, and factory-floor automation panels. Not qualified to AEC-Q100, so it is not the choice for under-hood or chassis-mounted automotive ECUs. For a 48-TSSOP package (0.240" body width), the board footprint is standard across the 74ALVTH and 74LVTH families — layout reuse between the two is straightforward.
Lifecycle and sourcing posture
TI lists the SN74ALVTH162245GR as Active and ROHS3 compliant. No end-of-life notice or last-time-buy window has been issued. For dual-sourcing resilience, the SN74LVTH16245ADGVR is a pin-compatible alternative in the same 48-TSSOP footprint, though it operates at a fixed 2.7V supply rather than the dual-range of this device.
