Bus transceiver for mixed-voltage backplanes
It provides 24 mA of source and sink drive per output, enough to handle a lightly loaded backplane or a handful of CMOS inputs on a shared data bus. The 3-state outputs let multiple transceivers share the same bus lines without contention.
The 1.65V to 3.6V supply range means this part works as a level translator between 1.8V and 3.3V logic domains without external level shifters. At 3.3V it is fully compatible with standard LVCMOS and LVTTL thresholds; at 1.8V it interfaces directly with low-voltage FPGAs or memory controllers. The 24 mA output drive at both voltage extremes keeps signal integrity on short traces up to a few inches.
