Registered bus transceiver — what it does
The Texas Instruments SN74ALVC16501DL is a registered bus transceiver, a logic device that captures data on the input bus into internal registers and then drives it onto the output bus under control of the clock and output-enable signals. This registered architecture isolates the two buses in time, which is useful in synchronous backplane or memory-interface designs where data must be held stable for a full clock cycle before being presented to the load.
Note the RoHS non-compliant marking: this part is built with lead-bearing solder terminations, so it is not suitable for lead-free assembly lines unless explicitly exempted. Verify your board's soldering profile and compliance requirements before committing the BOM.
