Quad buffer for mixed-voltage bus isolation
Each of the four elements handles one bit, with the output enable line per channel letting you gate individual signals onto a shared bus. The 1.65V to 3.6V supply range covers 1.8V, 2.5V, and 3.3V logic rails, making it a straightforward choice for level-translating or isolating a control signal between voltage domains on the same board.
The 1.65V minimum supply lets this buffer operate from a nominal 1.8V rail, which is useful for interfacing with low-voltage ASICs or FPGAs that run their I/O banks at 1.8V. At the other end, 3.6V covers a 3.3V rail with margin for ripple. The 24 mA source and sink capability per output is enough to drive a handful of CMOS gate inputs or a short PCB trace, but don't plan on driving a 50-ohm backplane or a long cable — that's where a bus transceiver with higher drive (like the 74ABT or 74LVTH families) would be called for.
The 3-state outputs let you share a data bus between multiple peripherals without contention — just pull the output enable low on inactive channels to put them in high-impedance.
It is ROHS3 compliant, with no exemption issues for EU or California markets.
