This is a key advantage for sustaining a BOM line that requires the through-hole DIP footprint — many 74ALS parts have migrated to surface-mount only, but this variant is still being manufactured. ROHS3 compliance is confirmed, covering the ten restricted substances plus the four phthalates. No separate lead-free conversion is needed; the part ships compliant for EU and global markets.
Because the lifecycle is Active, there is no LTB risk and no need to stockpile against an obsolescence event — normal procurement cycles apply.
