13 ns propagation delay — what it means on a 5 V bus
The SN74ALS11AD is a triple 3-input AND gate from TI's 74ALS family. Its 13 ns max propagation delay at 5 V and 50 pF load sets the timing closure window for a 5 V bus running at typical ALS speeds — fast enough for most TTL-level glue logic but not a candidate for the sub-5 ns paths where 74F or 74AC would be needed. The 4.5 V to 5.5 V supply range limits it to a regulated 5 V rail; no 3.3 V or wide-range operation here.
Output drive — asymmetric, plan the fan-out
High-level output current is rated at 400 µA, low-level at 8 mA. That asymmetry means the gate can sink far more current than it sources — typical for ALS. If you're driving a bus that needs both edges fast, check the high-side fan-out against the input current of the loads. The 0.8 V low-level and 2 V high-level input thresholds are standard TTL-compatible.
0°C to 70°C — commercial temperature only
Rated for the 0°C to 70°C commercial range. No industrial or automotive extension — if the board sees -40°C or 85°C ambient, this part won't hold timing over temperature. For a controlled indoor environment (office equipment, appliances, test gear) it's fine.
