Quad 2-input AND gate — the glue-logic workhorse
The SN74ALS08DR: Each gate takes two inputs and outputs the logical AND, making it the basic building block for combinatorial logic, address decoding, enable gating, and control-path cleanup on 5 V digital boards.
The maximum propagation delay is 14 ns with a 50 pF load at 5 V.
Output drive — 8 mA sink, 400 µA source
The output can sink 8 mA and source only 400 µA.
Input thresholds — 0.8 V low, 2 V high
The low-level input threshold is 0.8 V maximum; the high-level threshold is 2 V minimum.
