Dual D-type with set/reset at 140 MHz
The SN74AHCT74PW is a dual positive-edge-triggered D-type flip-flop from the 74AHCT series, each element holding one bit with independent Set (Preset) and Reset inputs and complementary Q and Q̅ outputs. Clock frequency reaches 140 MHz, which sets the maximum toggle rate the device can sustain into a 50 pF load — above that, the internal propagation delay of 11.4 ns at 5 V starts to limit setup-and-hold margin.
Supply rails, drive, and temperature range
Temperature range spans -40°C to 125°C ambient — the full industrial-plus-automotive underhood band. A design that sees 105°C in an engine-bay ECU or 85°C in a motor-drive cabinet still has margin before the 125°C ceiling.
14-TSSOP package and PCB integration
Housed in a 14-lead TSSOP with 0.173-inch body width and 4.40 mm nominal width — the thin-shrink small-outline package that saves board real estate compared to a SOIC-14. Supplier device package is 14-TSSOP; the 0.65 mm pitch fans out easily on a two-layer board with 6/6 mil trace/space. No exposed pad, so thermal relief is through the leadframe only — keep the ground pins tied to a solid plane for heat sinking.
Active production and compliance
Texas Instruments lists the SN74AHCT74PW as Active with ROHS3 compliance.
