Octal D-type transparent latch — 1 ns propagation delay, 5 V supply
The Texas Instruments SN74AHCT373NSR is an octal D-type transparent latch from the 74AHCT series, packing eight latches with tri-state outputs into a 20-SOIC surface-mount package. The 1 ns propagation delay keeps bus turnaround tight, and the 8 mA output drive per channel handles standard TTL loads.
The 1 ns propagation delay means the latch output follows the input within a nanosecond after the latch-enable goes active. In a 5 V system clocked at 50 MHz, that leaves nearly 19 ns of the 20 ns cycle for data setup and hold — plenty of margin. The 8 mA output high and low current drives four standard LSTTL loads or one 74AHCT input with headroom. If you are routing a shared data bus through a backplane or across a crowded PCB, the tri-state outputs let multiple latches share the same lines without contention.
