Quad 2-input XOR in 14-TSSOP
The SN74AHC86PW is a Texas Instruments 74AHC-series quad 2-input XOR gate in a 14-TSSOP package. It performs the exclusive-OR logic function on four independent gates, each with two inputs. Operating from a 2V to 5.5V supply, this device is suited for mixed-voltage digital systems where the XOR function is needed for parity generation, data comparison, or controlled inversion of a signal path.
Parametric envelope for BOM fit
Propagation delay is 8.8 ns maximum at 5V with a 50 pF load, which sets the data-rate ceiling for the signal path. The output drive capability is 8 mA source and 8 mA sink, sufficient for driving standard CMOS inputs or low-power loads on the same board. Quiescent current is 2 µA maximum, keeping the static power contribution negligible in battery-operated or power-budgeted designs.
Package and board-level integration
For PCB layout, the 0.65 mm pitch requires controlled solder-paste deposition and a fine-pitch stencil. Decoupling capacitance of 0.1 µF placed close to the supply pin is standard practice for this logic family to maintain signal integrity at the rated propagation delay.
The device is ROHS3 compliant, meeting the Restriction of Hazardous Substances directive without exemptions.
