Active production, wide voltage range, extended temperature
The SN74AHC540DBR: It operates across a supply range of 2V to 5.5V, making it suitable for interfacing between 3.3V and 5V logic domains. Outputs source and sink 8mA each, enough for driving multiple CMOS loads or a single TTL gate. The 3-state control lets multiple devices share a common bus without contention.
The 2V to 5.5V operating range covers 3.3V and 5V rails cleanly, with margin for a 5V rail that droops to 4.5V under load or a 3.3V rail that starts at 3.0V during brownout. The part does not require a separate VCCIO — the same supply powers the core and the I/O buffers. At 3.3V the 8mA output drive is enough to switch a 50pF load at 40MHz; at 5V the same load runs faster, but the propagation delay shrinks by about 2ns. If your design runs at 2.5V or 1.8V, look at the 74LVC or 74AUC families instead — the AHC series is not guaranteed below 2V.
Package and footprint — 20-SSOP
The 20-SSOP body measures 5.30mm wide with 0.65mm pin pitch. The footprint matches standard SSOP-20 land patterns; no thermal pad or exposed paddle.
