8-bit transparent latch with 4.6 ns propagation delay
The SN74AC563DBLE is an 8-bit D-type transparent latch from TI's AC series, with tri-state outputs that let multiple devices share a common bus line. The 4.6 ns propagation delay (max) sets the data-rate ceiling — the latch can capture and hold data at clock rates well above 100 MHz in a typical 3.3 V system, provided the output load capacitance is kept under the 50 pF the datasheet characterises.
At 3.3 V the 24 mA source/sink drive (both high and low) is enough to drive a heavily loaded data bus or a bank of LED indicators directly — no external buffer needed. At 5 V the same drive current gives a wider noise margin on the bus. Surface-mount assembly with the standard JEDEC MS-013 profile; no special bake required for moisture-sensitive level 1 parts.
