The SN74AC373DW is an octal D-type transparent latch from the 74AC series, with tri-state outputs and a 2V to 6V supply range. It holds eight bits of data while the latch-enable input is high, and the tri-state outputs let multiple devices share a common bus without contention.

Propagation delay and output drive

With a 7.5ns propagation delay, this latch keeps up with fast bus cycles in 5V systems — the data sheet's timing figure is the ceiling for the address-to-output path. The 24mA source and sink drive per output is enough to fan out to four or five standard 74AC loads without buffering.
