Triple 3-input NAND in the 74AC family
The SN74AC10N is a triple 3-input NAND gate from Texas Instruments' 74AC series — the AC stands for Advanced CMOS, which gives you the low static draw of CMOS with the edge rates to keep up with a 5V TTL bus. It packages three independent NAND gates, each with three inputs, in a 14-pin through-hole DIP.
Supply range and speed — the AC advantage
Quiescent current tops out at 2 µA, so this gate adds essentially nothing to the standby budget in a battery-powered board. Output drive is 24 mA both source and sink — enough to light a standard LED or drive the input of another logic family without a buffer. The input logic thresholds are specified across the supply range: low level is 0.9V to 1.65V, high level is 2.1V to 3.85V at 5V operation. These are 5V-tolerant inputs, so you can pull them directly from a 3.3V output and still get a valid high.
Through-hole DIP — still the go-to for prototyping and legacy boards
Housed in a 14-pin DIP (0.300" width, 7.62mm pitch), the SN74AC10N is a through-hole part. If you are breadboarding a circuit or maintaining a legacy design that uses a 74xx-series socket, this drops right in. The 14-PDIP supplier package designation confirms the standard 0.100" pin spacing.
