7 ns propagation delay — timing margin for a 50 MHz logic path
The TI SN74AC04PWR is a hex inverter from the 74AC family, packing six independent inverter gates into a 14-TSSOP package. With a max propagation delay of 7 ns at 5 V and 50 pF load, it keeps timing closure in logic paths running up to roughly 50 MHz. The symmetric 24 mA output drive (both source and sink) means it can fan out to a half-dozen CMOS loads or drive a short PCB trace without needing a separate line buffer. Supply range is 2 V to 6 V, so it works in both 3.3 V and 5 V systems without a level translator.
Active and ROHS3 — no LTB worry for production
Lifecycle status is Active and ROHS3 compliant. The industrial temperature range (-40°C to 85°C) covers most factory-floor and outdoor telecom enclosures.
14-TSSOP footprint — what it connects to
The 14-TSSOP package (4.40 mm body width) is a common logic footprint shared with the 74HCS04 and 74LVU04 families. Surface-mount only. No exposed pad — thermal dissipation goes through the leads, so keep the trace copper connected to the GND pins for a reasonable thermal path.
