Registered bus transceiver for 5 V backplane and memory buses
The single-element, 8-bit configuration keeps the pinout clean for byte-wide paths.
32 mA source, 64 mA sink — drive strength for loaded lines
Output drive is rated at 32 mA source and 64 mA sink per channel — that is enough to drive a heavily loaded backplane or a bank of memory chips without external buffers. The asymmetric sink/source ratio is typical for 5 V ABT logic, where the low-side pull-down is stronger to handle capacitive discharge on falling edges. If your bus has more than about 15-20 pF per line or runs longer than a few inches, this part saves you from adding a separate line driver.
If your board has a 3.3 V core rail, you will need a separate regulator or a level shifter for the bus side.
24-SSOP footprint and surface-mount assembly
Housed in a 24-SSOP package with 0.209-inch body width and 5.30 mm pitch, this is a compact surface-mount part suitable for dense PCBs. The supplier device package is 24-SSOP — no exposed pad, so standard reflow profiles for SSOP work fine.
