20-pin DIP footprint and board-fit
The SN74ABT534AN is an 8-bit D-type flip-flop in a 20-pin PDIP (0.300-inch, 7.62 mm) through-hole package. The 0.100-inch pitch and 0.300-inch row spacing match the standard DIP socket footprint used on legacy industrial and test-equipment boards — no board spin needed if the existing layout was designed for a 20-pin DIP.
175 MHz clock and propagation delay budget
That 6.7 ns sets the timing margin for the data setup and hold windows — in a 175 MHz system the clock period is about 5.7 ns, so the propagation delay consumes the entire cycle.
Supply voltage and temperature grade
The industrial temperature range is -40°C to 85°C — suitable for factory-floor PLC racks and environmental chambers, but not for extended automotive under-hood duty. Input capacitance is 3.5 pF per pin, which keeps the bus loading predictable on a 5 V backplane.
Output drive and tri-state control
Outputs source 32 mA and sink 64 mA, with tri-state inverted logic. The high sink current handles LED drivers or relay coils directly on a 5 V rail without a buffer. The inverted output means the flip-flop stores the complement of the D input — verify the logic polarity against the downstream load before committing the BOM line.
