Two 4-bit buffers with 64 mA sink capability
The Texas Instruments SN74ABT241APW packs two independent non-inverting 4-bit buffers in a single 20-TSSOP package, each with 3-state outputs for bus-oriented designs. The headline number here is the asymmetric output drive: 32 mA source on the high side and 64 mA sink on the low side, which gives you enough current to drive a heavily loaded backplane or a bank of LED indicators without external line drivers.

The 20-TSSOP body is 4.40 mm wide with a 0.65 mm pitch — tight enough that a standard chisel tip needs steady hands, but doable with hot air at 300°C and a gentle nudge. The orientation mark is on the top-left corner looking down, pin 1 index at the chamfer. No exposed pad underneath, so you don't have to worry about a hidden thermal slug; just tack the corner pins first, flow the rest with a fine iron, and inspect under a scope. It's a surface-mount part that survives a rework cycle cleanly if you keep the dwell time under 10 seconds per side.
