Two elements, four bits each — the layout angle
Two independent buffer elements, each handling 4 bits, share the same 20-SOIC package. That means one chip replaces two 4-bit inverting bus transceivers or four single-gate inverters, saving board area and reducing parts count. The 7.50 mm wide SOIC body gives you room to route the eight data lines and the two output-enable pins without crowding a tight inner layer.
Industrial temperature range — where it runs
The 5V ±10% supply tolerance means it plays well with legacy 5V TTL buses and with 3.3V systems that use 5V-tolerant I/O — just watch the input thresholds if you're mixing logic families on the same bus.
