Quad 3-state buffer for 5V bus interfaces
Each of the four buffers can sink 32 mA and source 64 mA — enough to drive a handful of standard logic inputs or a short ribbon cable without an extra line driver.
Output drive and temperature range
The 32 mA low-level / 64 mA high-level output current gives you the fan-out to drive up to ten 74LS loads or a few dozen 74HC inputs on a 5 V rail. The 3-state outputs let you wire-OR multiple buffers onto a bus; when the output-enable pin is low, the output goes high-impedance and the bus floats clean.
The 74ABT series is still a standard logic family in TI's catalog, so you can expect consistent supply through distribution.
