28-to-4 LVDS serializer for display bridges
The Texas Instruments SN65LVDS93BDGGR is an LVDS serializer in the 65LVDS family that takes 28 parallel LVTTL inputs and serializes them onto 4 LVDS differential output pairs at an aggregate data rate of 2.38 Gbps. It is designed for flat-panel display interfaces, camera modules, and any application where a wide parallel bus must be reduced to a few differential pairs to save board space and improve EMI.
2.38 Gbps aggregate — what it buys you
The 2.38 Gbps aggregate data rate across four LVDS pairs supports 24-bit color at WUXGA (1920x1200) or 1080p60 without compression. Each of the four outputs runs at up to 595 Mbps, which is well within the reach of standard FR4 PCB traces over a few inches. The 28 inputs map to 24 RGB data bits plus 4 control/hsync/vsync lines, so the part directly replaces a wide TTL ribbon cable with a single 4-pair shielded cable or FPC connector.
Housed in a 56-TSSOP (0.240", 6.10mm width) surface-mount package, the SN65LVDS93BDGGR uses a 0.5 mm pitch that is straightforward for standard reflow assembly. The 56-TFSOP and 56-TSSOP supplier device package are the same mechanical outline — no footprint surprise.
