The SN65LVDS4RSET is a single-channel LVDS receiver (0 drivers, 1 receiver per) in the 65LVDS series from Texas Instruments. It accepts a differential LVDS signal and outputs a single-ended CMOS level — no transmit path on-chip, so a separate driver or transceiver is needed for bidirectional links.
500 Mbps data rate and the signal-integrity ceiling
Rated for 500 Mbps, this receiver handles the LVDS signaling rate for most parallel-to-serial converter outputs and high-speed backplane links. At this edge rate, the PCB trace length and impedance matching dominate the eye opening — the receiver's input threshold and hysteresis are fixed, so the layout must keep stub lengths under 10 mm and maintain 100 Ω differential impedance to the source. A single 1.8 V rail alone will not power the output buffer; both supplies must be present and within tolerance. Industrial temperature grade (-40 °C to 85 °C,) covers the majority of factory-floor and outdoor telecom enclosures.
