Quad LVDS receiver for 200 Mbps links
The Texas Instruments SN65LVDS390DRG4 is a quad-channel LVDS receiver in the 65LVDS family, designed to convert differential LVDS signals to single-ended CMOS levels. Because it is a receiver-only device (0 drivers, 4 receivers), it is the right choice for unidirectional LVDS links where the transmit side is handled by a separate driver or transceiver. The 200 Mbps rating is the per-channel maximum — the part can sustain back-to-back data at that rate across all four channels simultaneously, provided the input differential swing stays within the LVDS standard.
Supply rail and signal integrity
At the nominal 3.3V rail, the receiver input common-mode range covers the LVDS standard of 0V to 2.4V, which is typical for point-to-point and multidrop backplane links. For signal integrity at 200 Mbps, keep the differential trace pairs length-matched and the supply decoupling within 5 mm of the VCC pin — a 0.1 µF ceramic plus a 1 µF bulk cap per the reference design is sufficient.
For production planning, this removes the risk of a sudden discontinuation that would force a board respin. The G4 designation is a TI-specific environmental code (lead-free / RoHS-compliant) and does not affect electrical compatibility with the base SN65LVDS390DR variant.
