Eight LVDS receivers in a 38-pin TSSOP
The Texas Instruments SN65LVDS388ADBT is an eight-channel LVDS receiver in a 38-pin TSSOP package.
At 200 Mbps per receiver, the aggregate throughput across all eight channels is 1.6 Gbps. That is enough for a 24-bit RGB video link plus sync at 60 Hz, or for eight parallel 100BASE-TX-like data streams. The LVDS common-mode range and differential threshold are designed for the standard 100 mV minimum swing, so you get decent noise margin even over a few metres of twisted-pair or ribbon cable. If your system runs at lower rates (say 50–100 Mbps), the margin only improves — no need to slow the edge rate.
That means it is still in regular production, with no last-time-buy notice issued.
Package and footprint — 38-TSSOP
The device comes in a 38-lead TFSOP (0.173" body width, 4.40 mm) — the same footprint as a standard 38-pin TSSOP. The 0.65 mm pitch is typical for this pin count, so layout guides from other 38-pin TSSOP LVDS parts (like the SN65LVDS389 or SN65LVDS387) are directly applicable.
